Winter adventures

Let the fairytale begin

Look forward to winter months full of guaranteed snow, sunshine and ideal conditions for winter sports activities! Here in Leutasch, you will enjoy winter hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in a dreamlike natural landscape. The Seefeld-Leutasch region is one of the world's best cross-country skiing areas with 248 kilometres of trails, but it also offers 142 kilometres of perfectly cleared hiking trails with fantastic views, a shiny white landscape and mountain huts to stop off at and warm up in!

Winter hiking

Nature enthusiasts will get their money's worth in the 16-kilometre-long Leutasch Valley, where a snow-covered landscape invites you to discover innumerable paths on winter hikes and strolls. Step by step, let the snow crunch under your feet in this winter wonderland. Thanks to its altitude and geographical orientation, Leutasch is considered to be one of the areas in Tyrol where snow is guaranteed.

In addition, many mountain huts are also open in winter, such as the Wettersteinhütte, Rauthhütte, Katzenkopfhütte, Hämmermoosalm, Gaistalalm, Muggenmoss Alm, Lottenseehütte and many more.

Snowshoeing

So, you want to experience an enchantingly white, untouched natural winter wonderland? In Leutasch, at an altitude of over 1,100 metres, your getaway will tranform into a snowshoeing experience like no other. Combine physical activity and an appreciation for the immaculate landscape with magnificent panoramic views, such as on the snowshoe hike to the Rauthhütte in Leutasch or to the Gschwandtkopf in Seefeld.

Tobogganing

This is what we call sledging in Tyrol, and it’s certainly most fun here in Leutasch and Seefeld! There is a wide choice of natural toboggan runs for you to choose from depending on your mood and physical condition. Panoramic views are guaranteed in any case! Whether you pick the Hohe Sattel for passionate tobogganers (no hut) or the Hämmermoosalm, which is also popular with families, the Katzenkopf natural toboggan run, which can be reached by chairlift, the steep trail to the Rauthhütte, which can only be conquered by athletic tobogganers, or the sunny toboggan trail to the Wettersteinhütte - the landscape, refreshment stop and tobogganing experience are simply magnificent!

Skiing & snowboarding

Directly in Leutasch, you will find a quaint little skiing area: with a 3-seater chairlift, a T-bar lift, a conveyor belt for children and approx. 10 km of perfectly groomed pistes, the Katzenkopf is particularly popular with beginners and families! The T-bar lift in Neuleutasch is perfectly suited for beginners and children due to its flat slope. The Katzenkopf hut sells delicacies, has sunny spots to rest, and (of course) a great view. Once a week, the Kreithlift (Katzenkopf) also opens in the evening.

In the entire Seefeld Olympic region, 34 lifts provide fun and variety on the slopes - there is a slope for everyone!

Ice skating

There are few pleasures like weightlessly gliding over ice! The centrally located artificial ice skating rink in Seefeld is the perfect sunny area to get your fill of daily skating fun, with skate rental and changing facilities available. At weekends, a special experience awaits nature enthusiasts in the depths of winter, when the romantic Möserer See lake freezes over and you can skate across the frozen ice cover.
